It was Solo Cup football for South Cardiff last weekend two games over two days. It all kicked off on Saturday with a Q/final fixture against Byron Bay. Cardiff secured a comfortable 4-2 win over Byron Bay Rams scoring two goals either side of the break.On progressing to the Semi-finals South Cardiff were handed the test of beating local rivals Lake Macquarie that they did with an emphatic 3-0 victory and ease into the Solo Cup Final. The final will be between South Cardiff and Edgeworth FC who claimed the other final places in the Solo Cup Final.

Cardiff have opened the scoring already by winning the draw for venue has Northern NSW Football announced the 2011 Solo Cup Grand Final will be played at Ulinga Oval the home ground South Cardiff home pitch on Wednesday 10th August, with kick-off at 7pm.
In the Zone Premier League, there was disappointment for Cardiff City FC and were roundly beaten by Swansea City FC 5-3. Cardiff remain fourth, but just a point ahead of Swansea in fifth.
