Mackay wants to see more of Gestede

Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay has stated public via the South Wales Echo he would like trialist Rudy Gestede to stay on will the Bluebirds. If he did here could well feature in Wednesday game against Celtic at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Mackay and is backroom staff have been happy with his contribution at the Spanish training club but it is up to the player and his advisors is next move. The Cardiff boss picked out his performance as one of the highlights of the game. He played a full 45 minutes scoring the only goal of the night.

After the match Mackay said,

“I’d love you to stay.

“Rudy is a young striker who has thrown himself into it this week.

“He’s a lovely lad, he worked really hard and there was good interplay with Robert Earnshaw at times.

“There is a rawness about him, but he did well and I will talk to Rudy and his advisors about staying with us longer. I would love him to agree.”

I am saw the Cardiff fans would love to see him play on Wednesday night.
