Cardiff make fifth signing

Cardiff City have signed Coventry's Icelandic midfielder Aron Gunnarsson making him the fifth signing under manager Malky Mackay. The clubs are in talks to agree a compensation package has Aron is under 24 they are entitled to a training fee payment. If they fail to agree on a suitable compensation package for the player, it would have to go to a tribunal to decide the fee involved.

Gunnarsson on board, but still Mackay is still in squad building mode. He will be travelling with the squad to their Spanish training club.

He began his career with local side Akureyri before spending a season with AZ in the Netherlands. He signed for Coventry in June 2008 on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee and was immediately utilised straight in the first team squad. Since joining Coventry over the years he has amassed an impressive 121 starts in total was only 13 off the bench scoring seven goals.

Next up is rumoured to be Plymouth Argyle striker Joe Mason after his club and Cardiff agreed to a £250,000 fee.
