Defensive midfielder Filip Kiss has beaten Kenny Miller to the accolade of becoming the seventh signing since Malky Mackay became manager at Cardiff City. Miller will be official announced a City player sometime today.
The young Slovakian under-21 international was official declared a Bluebird late last night on the official Cardiff City website after signing on a season-long loan deal and should feature in the Bluebirds next friendly against Bournemouth tomorrow.
The young 20-year-old signing is eager to get involved and play some Championship football, he told the South Wales Echo,
“I will do everything I can to succeed with Cardiff City,
“I can play a defensive midfield role, but I don’t have a problem attacking and getting forward.
“I want to play Championship matches.
“I want to grow as a football. This is a big challenge for me.
“I have agreed a 12 month loan deal and want to make the most of that.
“Personally, I want to stay longer with Cardiff City, well beyond the end of this loan.”
The article it is suggesting Cardiff were interested in sign Kiss on a permanent deal, but his club Slovan Bratislava were keener on a loan deal.
The Cardiff manager believes Kiss along with striker Joe Mason signed from Plymouth could have a big further with the Bluebirds with the young bloods already with the club.
