Good to hear that the Cardiff team searching for the new manager sort advice with the search has the board has not much in the way of footballing experience. One of the experts has been named is ex-boss Lennie Lawrence who is assistant manager at Crystal Palace while chief executive Gethin Jenkins also sort other opinions.
Jenkins said: "We have held discussions with representatives of interested parties and have consulted with various football experts to get feedback on potential candidates."
Cardiff's headhunting team consists of Jenkins and director Alan Whiteley are under pressure to find the right man for the job and every bit of knowledge helps. The papers and fans have former Newcastle boss Chris Hughton has the front-runner, but there is no guarantee the post is his for the taking there are some interesting names being linked. Whoever gets the call will have a major job rebuilding the squad leading to some interesting times for the fans.
Fans are banking on an announcement on Monday while the club have asked fans to be patience, which is easily said than done when you live and breathe the club. All we see are our rivals moving ahead with plans for next season while we are still at the starting gate watching. The board should have been more decisive and sacked former boss Dave Jones straight after the Reading game and all this new manager stuff would have been over by now. The new boss will have a big shop list, but will he have to budget to fill it after the Malaysians chased the Premiership dream last season. League fixtures are out next Friday it will be pre-season training so and at the moment the Cardiff squad could just about a five-a-side team.
