Birmingham snap-up Burkey

Ex-Cardiff City player Chris Burke has line himself up a new job with Cardiff's Championship rivals Birmingham City.They have give the 27-year-old midfielder a two-year deal. Being he was out of contract there is no fee coming Cardiff's way just one of the high earners of the wages bill. He will also be linking up with his ex-boss at Rangers and how boss at the Midland's club.

Although released by Cardiff he can't link out with his new team until July 1st, but the St Andrew's club have tied him up with a pre-contract agreement.

He is reported to have failed to have agreed terms with Cardiff so he was released. He joined Cardiff in Jan 2009 on a free transfer and became a hit with Cardiff City fans. His first game funny enough was against his new club at St Andrew's he came on at half-time in the 1-1 drew. He was more or less a regular, but towards the end of his time with the Bluebirds he found himself used more tactically from the bench has he lost his spot in ex-bosses Dave Jones crowded midfield.
