Ex-City striker scores' is first SPL goal

Former Cardiff City striker Josh Magennis scored his first goal in Scottish football when Aberdeen beat East Fife 6-0 in the Scottish Cup.

He joined the SPL club in the summer when he was released by Cardiff manager Dave Jones along with Peter Enckelman, Warren Feeney, Aaron Morris and Tony Capaldi who has been on trial with the Scottish club.

His first goal came at a sad time for the young striker owing to a family bereavement that saw him back in Northern Ireland last week. I was back in time to take his place on the bench for the East Fife game. He came on towards the game of the game, scoring in the 90minute what was described as a tidy solo effort.

The young striker has impressed the new management regime at Pittodrie with manager Craig Brown saying,
“Josh has returned home, but he is adamant he wants to come back for the game.
“He is really coming into his own in recent weeks.
“He has played very well and he scored a wonderful goal in our friendly at Peterhead on Tuesday night."
