All about promotion now

It's all about promotion NOW!
Ok we are out of the FA Cup and it A case of ‘am I bovvered’ well not really. I would much prefer to be playing Stoke City in the Premiership next season and so would Cardiff City boss Dave Jones and everyone involved with Cardiff City.

Watching the game on FATV I was glad to be sitting at home, it was dyer. The game looked to have extra-time stamped on it the longer the game went on even penalties at the beginning of extra-time. It was not to be with two extra-time goals for the Premier League club, leaving Cardiff to concentrate on the Championship. Watching the game in HD the pitch looked awful.

Boss Jones made wholesale changes from the team that drew with Norwich at the weekend, no McNaughton, Quinn, Whittingham, Olofinjana and Bellamy, were in the squad while Chopra was on the bench. It gave a chance of a number of younger members of the squad and fringe players a full on competitive game, not behind closed door friendlies.

It was good to see Danny Drinkwater back in the starting line-up after his injury problems, he played 75minutes but City boss Jones will have some concerns over McPhail who limped off deep into the first half. He his reported to have picking up a hamstring injury and the club are waiting on a scan to see the full extent.

Overall manager Dave Jones was happy with the performance of the players who succumbed to an extra-time defeat against Stoke City. Cardiff boss Jones said after the game:
"We had a lot of youngsters in there tonight and they haven't let anyone down.
"I can't fault them. We wanted to go through, and the team nearly did it, but we probably lacked a little bit of awareness at the death.
"This has given the youngsters a great taste of FA Cup football. They went out there and gave everything they had and we are disappointed we have gone out.
