A Russia women football team plan to play in bikini for an upcoming match. FC Rossiyanka is a top woman’s team winners of many a titles in Russia, and have represent Russia in the UEFA Women’s Champion League will don there bikini’s for the love of there football.

The bizarre decision came about because of the lack of spectators at their games so they hope playing a one off game in bikini’s will attract spectators back to their games and heighten their profile.

Tatyana Egorova, the team’s coach said, that although they have won many championships, only a few people have heard of the team.

“We are the best woman’s team in Russia and have won many championships, even representing our country in the UEFA Champions League.”

Svetlana Zhuravleva, the club’s chief executive said

“I think that our football players are beautiful and attractive women and they virtuously master the ball and do not yield to famous tennis player and gymnasts.”

Woman’s football is just as poorly supported in the UK but somehow I cannot see players donning bikini to bring in the fans. In America they tried lingerie American Football even setting up a league but it did not catch on with sporting public, man, they had the internet.
