The finally decision will be made at league's annual general meeting on Friday 24 June, but with 30 of the 40 clubs currently in favour, it looks a mere formality. An entry into mainland football has been muted for a few years now with Guernsey leading the way while the Jersey Football Association officials continue to seek an international route for their top players to compete in.
Guernsey FC will incur substance cost as well as the visiting team's costs. They will pay the travelling cost of a squad of 22, including players and manager and staff and hotel accommodation for one night. To keep the cost of the luggage down they will also provide a kit if the visitors if desired. Has they climb up the non-league system it's hoped the costs would reduce as they progress throw leagues to their goal of league football.
They are being sponsored to the tune of £750,000 per season by local Guernsey betting company Sportingbet. Most of the money will be soaked up with all the travelling and hotel cost they are expecting to play 60+ games next season with league and cup games. Home games will be played at Footes Lane (probably) with attendances for games forecast to be anything 300-1000 for home games, maybe 15 or 20 travelling to away games. They also have options on a few another grounds if need be.
