I hate the Play-off's

I was so glad to find the Burnley/Cardiff game on the internet, but I wished I didn't until the last minute of full-time. After the Middlesbrough game, everyone was expecting a better display from the Cardiff City players, but I was wrong. It was another disappointing display by the players who must have shut their ears to the criticise heaped on them after Mondays game. Cardiff City boss Dave Jones tried to put a positive spin on the afternoon, but fans being fans will see it slightly different light. So it's the play-offs then and Reading on Friday over two games and if the league season games are anything to go by it would go all the ways to penalties. The two league game this season ended in draws. Play-offs are Purgatory while the final is hell last season is now downgraded to a nightmare.

Last season it was Leicester City and the lottery of the play-off's where form is thrown out of the window because each semi final is like a cup finial. After 180 minutes it's all square so an extra 30 minutes just to see if you can sort it out or it's penalties. Still no breakthrough goal so add another lottery of penalties just another nail biter no one really needs. Off to Wembley where Blackpool was advised it would be a waste of time getting off the coach as Cardiff would walk the game. How wrong could everyone be as Cardiff were mugged and miss out on promotion I can see why than one would look forward to the play-off's.

The draw at Burnley allowed our deadly local rivals Swansea City to end the season above Cardiff on goal difference who will be facing Nottingham Forest in their semi-final. If the gods of football favour the Welsh team to overcome there English opposition come 30 May at Wembley the riches sporting fixture in the history of Welsh sport will take back at Wembley in the capital of England.

The game would be worth anything up to a £100million with parachute payments allow the police bill could be close to that jokingly. The two sets of fans have to travel under police escort to each other's ground with no independent travel so what for Wembley two massive convey of 60,000 fans snaking along the M4. However, there are two games to win for both teams and fans to get their heads around that thought and you can bet Reading and Nottingham Forest will have a say on that scenario.

The omens doesn't bode well for the Bluebirds who finish 4th in the league table no team in the last ten years who have finished in that position and gone on to win the play-off final. In the last ten years the team that end the season at 3rd have four won promotion and 5th and 6th three each not happy reading for the more suspicious Cardiff fans.
