Heaton back for the Derby game?

According to the South Wales Echo Cardiff City are hopeful to have goalkeeper Tom Heaton ready for the Derby game a week Saturday (April 2). The reports suggest Heaton is making good progress from a groin strain that as seen him miss the last four games.

If he is not fit that would leave Bluebirds boss Dave Jones with only on keeper for the Derby game. Present keeper Stephen Bywater is ineligible to face his parent club Derby County so that would leave Blackburn loanee goalkeeper Jason Brown. If Heaton makes the game, Brown will stay on the bench.

Jones said “We’ll assess Tom near the end of the international break and see where he is then.”

With Bywater out of the game it could give Jason Koumas a chance to at least find a place on the bench. He has been the odd one out has Jones jiggle his loan signings all season but there still be more heartache for Koumas if Jones brings in a loan striker.
