A late, late show at Doncaster

Hero of the day
Jason Koumas
Cardiff City did the business at Doncaster finely, but it wasn't easy listening. When the game when 1-1 my heart sunk, there is a rumour City can hold on to a 1-0 lead so when they scored I just thought not again, not today.

I know Cardiff boss Dave Jones will come out was some statement like 'we were the better team' but listen to the radio and the pundits on TV the home team put on the most pressure for most of the game. When you win do you care how the manager sees the game?

The turning point of the game was definitely the 87 minute went Dave Jones made a substitution taking of Chris Burke and sending on Jason Koumas. No one expected what was going to happen next there was only three minutes of normal time plus want the ref added for extra time.

Within minutes of coming on Jay Bothroyd was fouled, normally we would see Peter Whittingham take the free kick, but up stepped Jason Koumas to fire home the ball to put Cardiff back into the lead with less than minute of normal time left.

I am not a fan of time-add-on sometimes it works for you and sometimes it doesn't, but this season it's been helpful, Reading and Preston come to mind. Both game Cardiff salvage a point when it looked they would get none.

With the score at 2-1 five minutes of extra time can make any fan very nervy. However, in the last minute of extra time it was Koumas again who sealed the game and the points to make it 3-1, roll on Tuesday and Sheffield United. Koumas has had a torrid time since joining Cardiff on loan from Wigan fitness and injury problems and then the problem of the number of loan players allowed to be in the match day squad. That left him a bit part player on the bench more often than not, but fans will surely call for him to start.
