Cardiff look to Saturday

The big one
After the weekend games, it looks like a three horse race for the final automatic promotion spot. Cardiff and Norwich have only a point separating them while Reading have now entered the sprint to the finish on May 7th finishing line. They are three points off second place currently occupied by Cardiff. Defeat for Swansea has seen them drop off the pace at this critical time with only four games to go. However, it could all change by Monday evening when the Easter fixtures are over, fans will just have to wait a see.

Top of the table QPR play tonight at home to Derby the ideal outcome would be a win for Derby especially with the Londoners visiting the Cardiff City Stadium. If they do win tonight they will go nine points clear if not and they lose at Cardiff it with mean they would only have a three points lead going into the last three games.

Jay Bothroyd tweeted after the game he picked up a slight strain, but he expects to the fits for the QPR game. Stephen McPhail needed a pre-math injection to ensure he could line up against Portsmouth and in the press today declaring his goal to play through the pain barrier to help Cardiff to their goal of promotion.

The Cardiff boss looks to have most of this squad available for QPR on Saturday unless there is a training ground mishap. The game will is live on BBC1 Saturday and with it being first against second in the Championship will generate a lot of interest. Cardiff expect a nearly or sell out crowd for the game with tickets selling well. QPR have sold their allocation.
