Two horse race for Turner

CARDIFF City boss Malky Mackay has confirmed Cardiff is talking to Coventry over a possible deal that would bring in defender Ben Turner to his squad.

According to the Coventry Telegraph the negotiations are at an advanced on a £750,000 deal with Cardiff City striker making up the deal in the cash plus player.

"It is something we are trying to get done and we are in talks with Coventry City." Mackay confirmed.

There could be an obstacle on the player swap part of the deal and that is Parkin wage demands. Parkin his believed to be on £9,000 a-week at Cardiff a figure Coventry are unwilling to match according to the same newspaper.

Turner missed the majority of last season after suffering knee ligament damage, which required an operation he has yet to start this season.

Elsewhere in the press, they have Turner close to signing for his hometown club Birmingham City in a £1 million deal with add-ons, which could gazump the deal a Cardiff deal. Chris Hughton the Birmingham boss is looking for a replacement for the defender Scott Dann who looks set to depart.
