Time to step up Bluebirds

Points dropped left right and centre this afternoon opening the door for Cardiff City to capsules when they play Barnsley tomorrow.

Top of the Championship QPR won and look to be running away with the league unless their hit the wall. Second place Swansea City lost 2-1 at lowly Derby County and leaving a chance for there local rivals to jump ahead of them if they win tomorrow. Leeds United and Nottingham Forest fifth and sixth respectively both picked up draws and seventh place Burnley got smashed 3-0 by Millwall.

Cardiff City play tomorrow Norwich had a tough home game on Monday against a resurgent Bristol City who have won they last four games. A win for the tomorrow will see Cardiff back into second place depending on the Monday night game where a win for Norwich will see them in second.

Next Saturday fixtures are the last for two weeks because of a international break, what a time for a break with the season at possibly its most important period.

What does Cardiff need to win an automatic promotion spot at the end of the season? From the previous six seasons Cardiff have been in the Championship the final league tables points count have been anything but constant.

Based on the last six seasons 90 points could guarantee a top two finish. With Cardiff having played half of their game 46 league games accruing 40 pts from 23 games, Cardiff need to do better with the next 23 games. Can Cardiff win 17 games out of 23 remaining games?

In this crazy division will any club need 90 points to finish in the top two? Could it be lower than 2007/08 when West Brom just scraped into the 80 points bracket. I don’t believe QPR will run away with the league they will be pegged back, this league is wide up at the moment.
