Nathaniel Jarvis is set to join up with Antigua and Barbuda, who he qualifies to play for because of his grandfather. He made the announcement of his intention to play international for the Caribbean island via his Facebook status earlier today. The Cardiff City youngest is on loan with Newport County after having his initial one month loan extended
He was asked back in September to join their squad, but he declined the offer owing to limited time to make travel arrangement for the games against Curacao and U.S. Virgin Islands. They have two World Cup Qualifiers home and away against Haiti who are two points behind Antigua and Barbuda who top of the table looking to qualifier for the third round. If they do finish top they will come up against the USA, Jamaica and Guatemala.
Jarvis could clash with Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay if they qualifier for the Olympics via Pre-Olympic Tournament qualification after Mackay said he wouldn’t want any of this players involved in the Olympics.
