Imphal, June 20 : Manipur will be hoping for an early requisition of outstation players for an improved performance in the forthcoming 64th National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy 2009-10 to be held in Calcutta from July 15, said coach L. Nandakumar Singh on the sidelines of the coaching camp at Mapal Kangjeibung today.

The All Manipur Football Association had announced a list of 29 probables for the championship and taken up the matter of requisition of state players engaged in club duty in the country.
Nandakumar said the list of probables came out on June 10. However, the practice sessions could not commence because of bad ground conditions.
He said they could come out to the field at Mapal Kangjeibung only yesterday.
The coach stressed physical conditioning, as most of the players had been out of action since the conclusion of the Manipur State League in April.
He, however, was all praise for the players, as they had shown keen commitment.
He also emphasised the importance of a residential coaching camp, which would boost team relationships to a great extent.
Manipur is clubbed with Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir in Cluster IV and will play their first match against Rajasthan on July 16.
AMFA honorary secretary L. Ranjit Roy said requisition of outstation players was discussed at their meeting yesterday and the process is already under way for the paperwork.
Nandakumar hopes to identify the final squad soon and wants to acclimatise the players to Calcutta conditions.
Manipur won their only Santosh Trophy title in 2002, defeating Kerala 2-1.
