Imphal,March 31 :Rescue operations are in full swing in Manipur that was hit by a heavy storm in the wee hours of Sunday that created havoc in the state.The storm that believed to have erupted in full strength swept down from slopes of north eastern hill ranges at a speed of 15 to 20 miles per hour and went west around 2.30 am of Sunday.The sudden sporadic downpours left a trail of mass destruction in both the valley and hilly areas,as several rooftops were blown away and houses collapsed.However,No loss of human lives has been reported from anywhere in the state.Locals are helping rescuers to help restore the damaged buildings.

A landslide has completely devastated one house in a village.
No fatalities have been reported.
Now, locals are helping rescuers to help restore the damaged buildings.
[Thawaijao Kamei, Local, Manipur State]:
"Those who woke up early in the morning, including my mother, survived the landslide. But two persons who were sleeping at that time were buried. So, all the villagers joined hands, and we rescued the two buried people from the debris. There has been no loss of life but some people have sustained injuries."
The devastation is most severe in the areas of Senapati, Thoubal and Imphal West districts.
