Helena Andrews, author of the upcoming book "Bitch Is the New Black", was profiled today in The Washington Post, which reports that the film rights for the book were bought before it was even finished. Pitched to HarperCollins as "part 'Bridget Jones's Diary', part 'Sex and the City'," the book is a satirical look into the lives of young urban black women and what lies beneath the surface of so many successful and so-called "strong" women.
In an interview with the Post, Andrews talks about the difficulties that young, successful black women still have to face.
