Following his 3 month loan deal with the R's, striker Rowan Vine has made his stay at the R's a permanent one and is Rangers 8th signing of the current transfer window. 
Rowan has signed a 4 and a half year contract for a fee believed to be around £1 million.

Chelsea 1-0 QPR
Rangers bowed out of this seasons FA Cup, but did so with their heads held high, as a fluke goal proved to be the difference between the two sides on the day. But the R's performance against Premier League opponents, was not only impressive, but made the future look very bright indeed and I have no doubt whatsoever, that the 6,000 plus Rangers fans left Stamford Bridge feeling very, VERY proud!
The winning goal came in the 29th minute - Pizarro's low drive came back off the foot of the post and with Lee Camp diving full stretch, the ball bounced back and ricocheted off his side before spinning over the line.
But overall, Rangers pushed Chelsea all the way, and to see Didier Drogba killing time at the corner flag in injury time, spoke volumes for the Rangers performance. I know Chelsea are our local rivals, but let's not forget that they are also a top five Premiership team, who haven't lost at home in 2 years - and we were beaten by a lucky goal and more than matched them today! Also, as expected, the Rangers support was fantastic and we certainly showed our neighbours just how to support a football team and on today's evidence, boy do they need showing!!
Instead of writing the normal type of match report, I will continue by posting a few pictures from what was a memorable day...

Lofty's Man of the Match - well, all the way home, I have been racking my brains and trying to get the gangs opinions - but after all that, I just cannot divide the two choices I have made so will award it to both of them - Martin Rowlands and Gavin Mahon.
Special mention must also go to debutants, Matthew Connolly and Fitz Hall who had tremendous games and when he came on, Patrick Agyemang looked like he could be a real handful!
Anyway, the ONLY disappointment of the day was of course, the result and we certainly deserved another crack at them at Loftus Road at the very least.But before I sign off, I will just add two more photos of Rangers next signings who were sitting in the Rangers end this afternoon...

Rangers have made their 7th signing this week as Fitz Hall becomes the latest addition to Gigi De Canio's squad.
The 27 year old, former Barnet, Oldham, Southampton and Crystal Palace has joined at the close of business tonight for an undisclosed fee.

Rangers have made signing number six of the current transfer window, capturing striker Patrick Agyemang from Preston for a fee believed to be around £350,000.
The 27 year old, former Wimbledon and Gillingham hit man, has signed a four and a half year deal with the R's.

Well, seeing as there is a brief break in the days transfer activity, I thought I would bring you all up to date with another major transfer - Loft for Words/QPR Rivals has moved to Club Fanzine!
As some of you already know, that as well as writing this drivel for you all to read, I am also the assistant site editor to Clive Whittingham(NorthernR) at the above. Basically, we are not there anymore and from now on, Loft for Words will be based on www.clubfanzine.com/QPR.
Sky relaunched the rivals network last month without any input from the current editors etc and frankly, it hasn't gone down at all well. The message board is quite awful and also, there would be no room at all for the extra features that Clive and I work damn hard to bring you i.e. player profiles, away reviews, reserve and youth news etc.
So we had a choice, either to give it up alltogether or find another host and we are delighted to say, that after about 5 different possibilities/offers, club fanzine fits the bill for us.
It is up and running right now, the message board is live and working well and the news stories have started prior to the Leicester game. The other features will be moving over in due course but for now, we hope you enjoy the new site and thank you all for your continued support!!

QPR 3-1 Leicester
Rangers got 2008 off to a perfect start, with a both impressive and comfortable win over former gaffer, Ian Holloway's Leicester. All things considered, 6 points out of nine over Christmas was a good return and this result and performance was the perfect warm up for Saturday's FA Cup tie at Chelsea.
The only thing with a New Years Day fixture, is that the crowd seem very subdued, no doubt following the previous night's celebrations. So I guess that the resident drummer in Q Block, wasn't the most popular man at Loftus Road this afternoon!? The talk amongst the supporters before he game was not only the impressive win at Watford, but also, the visit to Stamford Bridge next week. But the result today over fellow strugglers was just as important and the 3 points from Saturday would mean little if we were to lose today.
Typically, there were two new strikers starting against us in the shape of Steve Howard and the most annoying player I have ever seen play. Having already had to endure his moaning and groaning twice already this season, it was somewhat disappointing to see Barry Hayles line up for the Foxes and continue his love affair with Ian Holloway.
But any concerns were soon blown away as Rangers went onto to dominate the first half - and the now prolific Damion Stewart's header from Akos Buzsaky's corner, gave Rangers the lead after a quarter of an hour.
Rangers extended their lead on 27 minutes when Dexter Blackstock, who so deserved a goal at Watford, must have thought he had got his reward - the R's striker headed Vine's across towards goal but Adam Bolder nodded the ball home from close range to make it two nil.
Despite a bright start to the second half from Leicester, Rangers made the points safe on 56 minutes and Dexter Blackstock, finally got the goal his recent performances have deserved! Vine was again the provider from the left, beating his man twice before crossing for the R's number 9 to power his header home from close range.
Just a minute later, Leicester pulled on back with a superb free kick from Iain Hume and as the game progressed, Howard hit the post and Camp saved brilliantly from Fryatt late on. But in truth, Rangers were pretty solid and held on more than comfortably.

Lofty's Man of the Match - Rowan Vine was outstanding on the left for the R's and Buzsaky again, was involved in just about everything. But for his performance and needless to say, his goal, today's accolade goes to Dexter Blackstock.
Well, to sum up, this was pretty much a perfect start to what is bound to be an exciting 2008 for QPR - and with 4 wins in the last six games, we have finally started to find a bit of form. There are going to be plenty of new faces arriving over the next few weeks and as mentioned, we travel to Chelsea next weekend in the cup. All in all, it feels pretty good being an R's fan at the moment :-)
