Only 12 to go

Tick tock, tick tock ……. the countdown to the end of the season is starting to feel ever closer, with an edginess that comes with Cardiff City position. Only 12 games to go plus a possible 3 extra for the teams who fell into the dreaded Play-offs! Who wants that? May does seem a long way off

Every Cardiff City fan I have  spoken to doesn't want to be stuck with the play-offs again, it’s been well proven it’s the biggest lottery of them all. Before last season many Cardiff fan often sighted the Stoke play-off game has there worst experience they have have has a City fan, closely followed by the FA Cup Final defeat against Portsmouth.

It is now the Blackpool Play-off Final which occupies the mind of many a Cardiff fan and know one wants that again. Take last season Blackpool finished sixth in the league table but via the play-offs one the prize of promotion.

Automatic promotion must by the goal, a top two finish the target with Cardiff City boss Dave Jones entering in to it by saying he wanted the top spot off QPR.

The deadly 12
Saturday, 5 March Ipswich, home 5:20pm (live on Sky)
Tuesday, 8 March Crystal Palace, away 8:00pm
Sunday, 13 March Barnsley home, 3:00
Saturday, 19 March Millwall, away 15:00
Saturday, 2 April Derby, home 15:00
Saturday, 9 April Doncaster, away 3:00
Tuesday, 12 April Sheffield United, away 7:45
Saturday, 16 April Portsmouth home 3:00
Saturday, 23 April QPR, home 12:45
Monday, 25 April Preston, away 3:00
Saturday, 30 April Middlesbrough, home 3:00
Saturday, 7 May Burnley, away 12:45
Based on the league table we have today, a run-in looking like above would have any fan jumping for joy. The Bluebirds only QPR from the top 6 and with home advantage and Millwall and Burnley chasing a play-off spot. The rest are in the bottom half of the table which I find more worrying because of the patchy history playing teams at the lower end of the table. The Ipswich game is not just another league game it must be treated has a cup final.

Win them all and there should be ok unless Swansea was to do the same. In the upcoming week they must play Nottingham Forest, plus a number of play-off contenders and a sprinkling of relegation threaten teams in need of points just has bad as the promotion chasers.

Yes I’m bricking but there is a part of me up for the fight and of course, third time lucky, BLUEBIRDS

The Blues rent?

In the published company accounts posted by club  it shows that the Cardiff Blues are paying rent of £400.000 per-season as tenants. There is a break down of some of the information on the accounts on Mike Morris’ message board, (see link)

The accounts cover May 31st 2009 to May 31st 2010 in that period the Blues played a total of 18 games, that works out at just over £22,200 per game. That seems serious low for an up to-date venue like the Cardiff City Stadium? I remember reading on the Blues message board suggestions that they were paying £60,000 per game. There average that season was around 10.000 - adult tickets are I believe £20. It is difficult to work out the avenge takings but it must be more than £200,000 based on a 10.000 average.

I'm not sure about these figures if some one can work it out let me know, another thing what do the Blues get for there rent?

The flavor of a final

Birmingham, who won the Carling Cup 2011

" may be absurd, but yet I dare say that football is a wonderful sport, and of course it is. The goals are the value of the weird. I love the rhythm of football, the absence of preconceived formulas, I love how can low against the high, the feeble against the strong, something not occur in any other contact sport, I love that the best equipment is not always the winner, is sensational how combines strength with intelligence.

allows players look really cosmetic and does so in almost all sports would be impossible: a diving header well coordinated, a volley well connected, allowing the body to achieve a posture and elegance that many athletes never might exhibit.

This is something that is not ever out of a football field. Across the country, it is not possible to be anywhere else and feel like I was really in the center of everything. It does not matter what club you go, what theatergoers, what movie, what show, what restaurant: life will followed up elsewhere, regardless of our absence, as always happens. But when I'm at Highbury in a game like this, I have the feeling that the world has stopped, that is gathered outside the stadium, waiting to know what was the result.

Nothing official yet - Kirkland a Bluebird?

Cardiff City have signed goalkeeper Chris Kirkland on an emergency loan from Wigan Athletic, it was reported in the week he had turned down the chance to join the Bluebirds.

David Marshall was first choice keeper most of the season until an on-going elbow injury reared it's ugly head. Although he has been on the bench as cover for Tom Heaton the club feel it's time for an operation to fix the problem.

He is third choice keeper at Wigan. Wigan fans are suggesting he was told in no uncertain terms he was third choice and it was unlikely to change, so a move would be benefical.

He started his career at Coventry City before joining Liverpool in a £6m deal. His move was unsuccessful and was loaned to West Brom and later Wigan while with Liverpool. Wigan decided to sign him in 2006 and had his most prolific goalkeeping spell in his career playing some 125 games in total. This season has seen him drop down the pecking order and already he a loan stint with Leicester City now he is a Bluebird until the end of the season.

Although this is just paper rumours until we hear something official from either club.

Good day in the office for boss Jones

It was an interesting afternoon that the top of the Championship but Cardiff stay third and six points behind top of the table QPR. The league leaders had a good 3-0 win away from home to keep the pressure on the chasing pack. Second place Swansea City had the early kick-off today with promotion chasing Leeds United the visitors, and destroyed them 3-0 in this one way encounter.

Cardiff had a tough trip to Hull City and it was not one for the nerves, after scoring the opening goal in the 65minute the game was finally killed off in the last seconds of injury time. The game end 2-0 to the visitors. Norwich moved up to fourth with a 2-0 win at Barnsley as Nottingham Forest could only manage a point away at Millwall, dropping them to fifth. Leeds stay in sixth even after losing at Swansea.

Next week’s games,

Helguson leaves Boro Heid and dry.

Today the Rangers' faithful took to the road and embarked on the long 'ol pole to Teesside as the R's took on struggling Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

With Jenson pulling out at the last minute due to working commitments it was I that took over driving duty with Sam, Jess and Luke as my passengers. PK and Lofty were also unable to make the trip due to them being on call for work so the depleted gang took to the road just after 9.30.
We started listening to the finest old skool tunes around for the first two hours of the journey and then Sam requested that some party/singa-a-long songs were put on and the first song to grace our ears was 'I'm so excited' by The Pointer Sisters, a feeling that really wasn't shared in the car as Luke was sleeping and the rest of us still feeling tired from not having much sleep the night before.
After a quick stop in Wetherby services and a burger king munched by us all we again hit the road with only 45minutes of our journey left.
We arrived at 1.40 and parked up right outside the ground and made our way into the ground, bumping into Clingy just outside the turnstiles and went inside for a quick beer and chat before taking our seats ready for the game start.

Neil Warnock made one change to the team that beat Ipswich 2-0 on Tuesday night, Akos Buzsaky in for Ishmael Miller.

Photobucket

The first half started as an edgy affair as Middlesbrough looked to unsettle the R's in their free flowing passing and it looked to be working as they always looked to set Leroy Lita and Scott McDonald free behind Fitz Hall and Danny Shittu, all with very limited success.
The R's did start to slowly take a foothold of the game as Taarabt was looking to be instrumental in his left wing position. It was Taarabt who looked like his was going to do all he could and open the scoring as he had a shot fly wide, one shot gathered up easily by the 'Boro keeper and another one blocked.
The final 10 minutes saw Rangers' look at their most comfortable as they were reading all of Boro's attacks and hitting them on the counter and it was that man Taarabt again that nearly opened the scoring as a long ball evaded everyone and Taarabt got to the ball before the keeper and unfortunately for him the ball nestled on top of the net rather than in it.
A few minutes before the end the deadlock was broken. Helguson managed to take the ball down inside the area and hit his shot, it deflected off the back of a Boro defender and looped into the back of the net. Slightly fortuitous but who cares!

Photobucket

At half time Sam, Luke and Clingy went downstairs to get in refreshments as me and Jess stayed in our seats as I begun writing this report. There were a few half decent half time scores to keep us excited but it was important that we held onto the 3points as Swansea won earlier on in the day.

Rangers' came out for the second half with all guns blazing (and with only me and Jess from the gang present to see the opening 10 minutes of the half).
The R's hit the ground running and in the opening five minutes we had three separate counter attacks foiled at the last minute by the Boro defence.
However the resolve did not last long and soon the lead was doubled.
Routledge skinned his marker on the left hand side and dinked a delightful ball into the 6 yard box and there was Helguson to nod in with aplomb and put the R's in a controlling lead.
After the second goal there definitely was only ever going to be one winner.
The R's remained in control and the opportunity for a third soon came.
Taarabt danced into the left hand side of the box and was tripped, definite penalty!
Taarabt grabbed the ball and soon shook of Helguson as the striker looked to bag his first hat-trick for the R's and despite calls from other Rangers' players to give Heidar the chance of the match ball, pure greed won the day and Adel stepped up to take the kick and sent Steele the wrong way as he smashed his penalty to the left and into the back of the net for Rangers' third goal of the afternoon.
The third goal left the R's in cruise control and a fourth goal would've been possible had we really pushed hard enough for it. Middlesbrough in fairness did fashion a few chances of their own before the end of the game but Rangers' ran out clear and deserved winners.

Photobucket

This was a very professional performance on the road and a very much needed goal feast away from home was finally served up.
Having Akos back in the starting 11 and having his movement and creativity in the team was something that we have missed and gave us that extra impetus in the final third of the field. Faurlin and Derry once again bossed the midfield as Taarabt and Routledge caused plenty of problems with all their trickery.
It would've been superb to see Heidar bag a hat-trick today had Adel given him the chance from the spot but this was Adel's first away goal since the Palace way back in October.

The Man of the Match for today had a few contenders as there were a few good all round performances. As mentioned before Alejandro Faurlin and Shaun Derry were immense in the midfield and Akos Buzsaky was superb on his return. Today's man of the match is a clear winner with everyone's vote going to Heidar Helguson.

Photobucket

After the game two members of the gang were very happy as Sam won £100 on Helguson being first scorer and Rangers' winning 3-0 and Clingy won £52 on a 3-0 R's victory. Myself and Jess were slightly gutted as we had Helguson first and the R's to win 2-0, at least we won the three points!
The journey home was one that we all wanted to get out of the way as quickly as possible so I put my foot to the floor Jenson style and aimed to beat last years time of just over three hours.
We left the car park gates at the Riverside at 5.15 and we walked into our front door at 8.30, I must say I shocked myself and everyone was happy as we all made it home in time for 'Take me out'.
At the end of the journey my car was feeling pretty battered and bruised and we had a loss of power for the last 20 minutes of the journey and with the car screaming weird noises, no explaination can be given yet but hopefully in the morning the poor motor will hopefully of recovered.

Can Jones keep hold of Ramsey

Cardiff City boss Dave Jones is still hoping to do a deal with Arsenal and keep Aaron Ramsey a while longer. Ramsey is due back with Arsenal after the Hull City game is boss at Arsenal Arsene Wenger said in the press a few days ago that he wanted is player back.

His (Jones’) ‘cunning plan’ is to see if they will go with a new deal where they could call Ramsey back with 24-hour call-back basis. The Gunners picked up a number of injuries in mid-weeks game against Stoke so it keep be a non-starter him staying on another short loan deal. If Wenger is planning just to call him back to occupy the bench surely it would be better for him to play regular first team football.

Wenger is reported to want his star midfielder Ramsey to be in his squad for the Arsenal’s FA Cup fifth round replay against Leyton Orient on Tuesday. However, he can’t play in the return tie because he was unavailable for the initial tie. It is bound to frustrate the arsenal boss

Cardiff boss Jones said:
"We're trying to work with Arsenal to see whether we can have him a little bit longer, maybe on a 24-hour call-back."
"We've put our case and I'm sure they'll put theirs.
"But he is an Arsenal player and we knew the situation and they've picked up a couple of injuries so whether that affects the decision or not, we'll wait and see.
"If he's going to go back and just sit on the bench then that's no good for him so I'm sure we'll try and come up with a solution.
"But that will be Arsenal's decision and whatever they decide will be fine with ourselves."

City v Hull City

The last time Cardiff City face Hull City was back in September at the Cardiff City Stadium with the game ending in a 2-0 victory for the Bluebirds. One of the two goals was scored by loanee Seyi Olofinjana, on loan to Cardiff from Hull.

Normally loan players don’t play against their parent club but with Cardiff defender Anthony Gerrard going the other way both clubs agreed to allowed there players to play.

Last time Cardiff won at Hull Stadium was back in 1998/99 when both clubs were in Division Three with a 2-1 victory.

Tomorrow’s game at Hull will see Cardiff in the hunt for three points to add to the three they picked up after there deserving win mid-week over Leicester City.

There has been a virus doing the rounds among the Cardiff City squad it forced captain Craig Bellamy to miss the Leicester game. Seyi Olofinjana is possibly doubtful for the trip to Hull with a knee problem but for Olofinjana Cardiff City boss Dave Jones looks to have a full squad to call on.

Hull City are reported to have no problems.

Season now ends on May 7th

The Football League as announced a chance to the end of season fixtures for the Championship.

Normally the final games are all played on a Sunday with 3pm kick-off, this season they will be played on a Saturday 7th May and all kicking off at 12:45pm.

The League has been in talks with TV companies and Clubs before a final decision was made. Sky and the BBC will be showing live games but the decision will be made after the May 2nd fixtures. They will then decide which game to air live from teams vying for promotion or relegation.

Matthews off to the backwaters the SPL?

Unbelievable Cardiff City defender Adam Matthews who was once being touted has a £4million plus player only last season. Now he could be off in the summer Celtic.

There will be no big payday, no Manchester United, Arsenal  and the Premier League but he is off to the back waters of the SPL. He is out of contract and although he has had talks with Cardiff he can also talk to other clubs leaving the Bluebirds only able to receive a compensation payment. Cardiff will received £200,000 according to the Scottish Sun as Celtic beat off interest from a number of Premiership clubs.

Matthews has been out in the cold this season most of his game have been off the bench, just two League starts. He will be stay with the Bluebirds until the end of the season then he will join up Joe Ledley who joined at Parkhead.
With Matthews a goner (maybe) fans still have to wait on Chris Burke and Jay Bothroyd, both out of contract in the summer to decide there futures.

Megan Fox Strips Down For Armani Underwear Ad

Already going topless for a jeans ad, Megan Fox is upping the ante. By pulling down the pants.
Fox gets down to a very skimpy bikini bottom for her new Armani underwear ad campaign, and the accompanying video features her not only in the teeny bikini, but also a flowing shroud. Because really, why not?

Miss Colorado Blair Griffith Homeless, Soon To Be Jobless

http://i.huffpost.com/gen/250758/thumbs/r-MISS-COLORADO-large570.jpg
It's been a pretty dismal fairy tale for the reigning Miss Colorado USA Blair Griffith.
The 23-year-old and her mother were evicted from their home last November -- a month after winning the pageant -- and have been homeless since, Colorado's 9News reports. They're staying with a family friend after a series of setbacks, including her mother's heart attack and major surgery that caused financial troubles.
What's more, Griffith, a magna cum laude graduate of the Art Institute of Colorado, will be out of a job next month. She works at Saks Fifth Avenue, and her store is closing. Still, she keeps herself collected.
"I hope people will see this and realize, 'Wow, she is a real person,' or 'Hey, I didn't think there was someone out there going through something similar to me," said Griffith.
It was her father who encouraged Griffith to take a shot at beauty pageants when she was younger. His early death from pancreatic cancer encouraged her to enter the Miss Colorado Teen USA. After much persistence, she paved the road for her future success by winning on her fourth try.
Griffith plans to compete in the Miss USA competition in June.

Kelly Brook Sultry for Armani Video

If you watch this new Armani video for it's artistic creativity then it's pretty much crap. But if you watch it to see Kelly Brook breath heavy and bounce almost completely out of her outfit then it's Oscar worthy.

A Smalling 0-0 to see

At the moment you are about to watch a game whose outcome you know you lose one of the most decisive factors football: unpredictable. It is still worse when the marker has been a goalless draw and no you no other choice than to grab individual actions such as balance of a meeting with no aim and few opportunities. Ninety minutes later, a strange feeling comes over you have used the time before the most striking player in the window of the Velodrome: Chris Smalling.

In just twenty minutes gone, the central Manchester United had already been anticipated even three times to Brandao. Come to rest, Smalling had only missed a long through ball from his own half. And when the referee signals the end of the meeting, the young Englishman finished second part flawless, rich in punt head output brilliant ball and great in terms of solvency. It was the second high-level review in the last two weeks: in the derby against City would be unfair to qualify below and France was notable for outstanding merit.

" He did an excellent job again, he likes to defend and gave an example of how it is evolving " sentenced Ferguson, who had raised the meeting in a rather conservative. One could speak of the level that gives the holder Gibson, why Rooney is lost in the field so easily or few details left when Nani is expected, but that was another matter. This time it was Smalling. And he deserved it.

Women Of Indian Nacked

Three plus one of two perfect Hardcastle

Yesterday in Denmark, Carlo Ancelotti Drogba sat on the bench to align and Anelka Torres (brace from French) as a couple of attack. Not only surprised that the Ivorian was the sacrifice but the proposed 4-4-2 Chelsea was unthinkable in previous forecasts. Malouda was positioned on the left, as steering wheel, and where performance has improved over the past two years, remember the wonderful spring season past-and Ramires is tentatively outlined in the right lane, leaving the entire field amplitude increases Bosingwa. The victory (0-2) against Copenhagen does not reveal any question in understanding how to build an eleven where they can play Drogba and Torres.

Despite possessing 55% of Danes, Chelsea did not suffer the danger of a goal. The good of the plants was accompanied by a remarkable match and Essien Ramires combining the recovery of the ball, which came gently to her feet when Claudemir Kvist and were pressed with a logical order, in addition to the participation of Lampard between defense and attack. The international position English, the choice between Ramirez and Mike and the soccer organization Malouda, the unknowns are high after a key question that justified Ancelotti as managers of minutes: Drogba, Torres, Anelka, Torres Torres or only? With the 4-3-3 with which we were accustomed, everything indicated that the attacking trio formed with two ends and a latch. Cleverly, Ancelotti seems to have ruled out the option as neither Anelka Malouda or adapt to a place where Benayoun, still injured, perhaps the best suited.

But Malouda would be effective to eliminate the Eleven of Chelsea? Shuffling the alternatives that are managed, and assimilating the necessary ownership of Malouda, Torres and Drogba, bet a 4-4-2 conversion of parts where Essien would be indisputable in a diamond almost formed by Lampard in the company of Ghanaian and by Malouda and Ramires on the sides leaving the winter signing, Torres, Drogba made age. Go-ahead for two offensive side, Cole and Bosingwa, and a physical midfield. Three forwards in search of two posts about the adaptation of a still unsettled but with the large sum of Malouda in an effective cover for their qualities. Three for two plus one.

Ramsey back to the Emirates

Forget an extension of his loan deal Aaron Ramsey will be heading back to Arsenal after the Hull City game Saturday. Reports in the press and internet have Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirming he wants the young midfielder back.

With a fixture pile-up and injuries it always looked likely a return to the Emirates Stadium was on the cards. The highly rated midfielder could be in line for FA Cup action next week in the fifth round replay against Orient. Wenger is happy with his progress while with the Bluebirds. Arsenal are still the chase for four pieces of silverware, The Premier League they are chasing down top of the table Manchester United and there is the Champions League and a Carling Cup Final.Wenger said,
“He is on loan until Saturday.
“After that, he comes back. He could be available for the FA Cup replay against Leyton Orient next Wednesday.
“Yes, I intend to use him. I have had good reports from Cardiff. He could not play on Saturday because he had a little hip problem and we demanded he rest.
“I think he will play this Saturday again and then we will see if he comes through that game well. After that he is available for Arsenal.”
Cardiff fans will be disappointing but that what happens in the loan market a month is nothing in football. There is little Cardiff City boss Dave Jones could do but give Wenger a call to confirm what the press are reporting is true.

Back on track - Great win

After the Nottingham Forest it was a case of clasping ones hands and shouting from the roof top ‘we're doomed, we're doomed’. Forward just over three days, and you are jumping up and down praising everyone for a victory. That’s football for you folks.

Before kick-off, yes I was worried and didn’t help with Michael Chopra and Aaron Ramsey both need late fitness test before being declare fit to play. Leicester was the in-form team tonight steadily climbing up the table.

Cardiff took the lead through a Michael Chopra scoring is eighth league goal of the season, ten in total. With the goal coming in the 21 minute it left a lot of time for the visitors to get back into the game. A second goal would be helpful. The in the 52 minute and was loanee Aaron Ramsey putting the Bluebirds 2-0 up and taking some of the pressure of the management and fans. Chopra went off maybe with an injury or tactical.

It was a good recovery after the Forest game and it was good for the backend of the team keeping a clean sheet.

The other results that matter from tonight saw top of the QPR beat Ipswich 2-0 at home, it did look for awhile if the game would end 0-0. Swansea is second after a 1-0 win away from at Coventry leaving Cardiff now in third.

Fourth place Nottingham Forest came unstuck against bottom club Preston. It looked like the game was going to end 1-1 at full time but Forest score again two minutes into injury time. The game was not over has six minutes into extra-time Preston squared the game up.

In Fifth place Norwich managed to score both goals in the 1-1 draw at home to Doncaster. Sixth place Leeds also could only manage a draw with Barnsley.

Looking forward to Saturday’s game

QPR Still Sit on Top of the Hill...

QPR 2-0 Ipswich

QPR maintained their 5 point lead at the top of the Championship as goals from Clint Hill and Heidar Helguson, gave the R's a 2-0 win over in-form, Ipswich.

Well the fixtures seem to be coming thick and fast now, but despite it being a midweek fixture, I am very pleased to report a full gang attendance, including once again, our very own good luck charm, Little Jack. We didn't really all get together until we were all inside the Stadium with kick off fast approaching and the main talking point was that Neil Warnock had decided to break up the meanest defence in the division and rest Matt Connolly and Kaspars Gorkss. Fitz Hall and Danny Shittu took their place in the centre of defence and to be honest, caused much concern as neither had played much football this season for one reason or another. However, in Warnock we trust and we needn't had worried at all as they were both immense in the centre of defence, more on that later...

Onto the game and in an easily forgettable first half, it was the visitors that had slightly the better of things and young starlet, Connor Wickham, came close to giving the Tractor Boys an early lead after he found space to unleash an angled drive that QPR debutant Danny Shittu did well to block. On the half-hour, Shittu's defensive partner Fitz Hall, threw himself in front of a thunderbolt from Grant Leadbitter to deflect the shot over the crossbar. Shittu was in action again as Rangers got into their stride towards the end of the half and saw his header from Taarabt's corner cleared off the line.

Rangers were much improved after the break and the chances began to come - Ishmael Miller's close-range shot was saved by Marton Fulop before Helguson's header flew just over the top from Shittu's nod back. Lee Martin brought a good save from Paddy Kenny before the breakthrough finally came on 77 minutes - Taarabt swung in a corner which was again met by Shittu who nodded across the face of the goal and Clint Hill threw himself forward to power the ball home with his head.

Wayne Routledge almost made it two minutes later but Fulop saved his powerful drive. But it was game, set and match on 83 minutes when Hill found space on the left to cross for Helguson, who headed down and the ball bounced high into the net.

QPR: Kenny, Orr, Hill, Derry, Hall, Taarabt, Helguson, Faurlin, Routledge, Miller (Buzsaky 75), Shittu (Connolly 90).Subs: Cerny, Gorkss, Hulse, Vaagan Moen, Chimbonda.

Lofty's Man of the Match - I'm very pleased to report there were several contenders for this one - myself and Lee opted for Danny Shittu for a superb return to the QPR First Team. Jenson and Alan both went for the goal and assist man, Clint Hill, with Corp choosing Paddy Kenny. It was so hard to disagree with any of the choices, but tonight's winner with 3 votes, from PK, Jo and Sam, this ones for you - Fitz Hall

In summary, this was a MASSIVE win against a side in form and a side with absolutely nothing to lose. Rangers again have to make a long ol' poke up North on Saturday to the Riverside Stadium to face a Middlesbrough side to which you just never know, just what side turn up from one week to the next. Lee will return with his famous and entertaining away reports but until then...

Subs:- Marshall Naylor Gyepes McPhail Burke Parkin Blake

Cardiff City boss Dave Jones as made a number of chances tonight, out goes Parkin and Burke both on the bench. There is no place in the squad for Bellamy who must be resting his knee.
So Chopra lines up with Bothroyd in attack, Emmanuel-Thomas and Ramsey start in midfield with no change in the back four with Heaton retaining his place in goal.

Will Ramsey and Chopra be fit?

Will he or won’t he is the big question surrounding striker Michael Chopra, be fit enough for the top of the table clash with Leicester City. Yesterday the rumour was it would be touch and go if he would be fit, today the player himself is telling the local press he his will to play the rest of the season with his ankle injury if he has to.

It will be down to Bluebirds boss Dave Jones if he is will to risk playing Chopra carry a injury or play it safe and keep him on the sideline until he is 100% fit. Could he last out the season ? There are still 14 game to play and there is the play-offs depending how the season ends.

Loanee Aaron Ramsey is expected to undertake a late fitness test on his thigh injury and is expected to pass and play tonight. Saturday and the trip to Hull City will single the end of his loan period unless Cardiff City boss Dave Jones can get an extension.

The Arsenal boss said at the start of the loan he wanted him back after the one month deal. Expecting him to be ready to push for his place back in his squad. Ramsey himself said he was looking forward to going back to Araenal and was ready to fight for his place.

It would be handy to be at full strength Cardiff need to get back to winning ways but the fixtures have not been kind to the Bluebirds over the last week or so.

City chased Kirkland

According to the Daily Mirror Cardiff City boss Dave Jones tried to tempt Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland to Cardiff.

Wigan were happy to loan him out he spent time with tonight’s visitor playing in three games letting in seven goals. The England international admitted his loan move to Leicester did him few favours.

Jones was looking for an end of the season deal but Kirkland who is now third choice keeper decided he want to stay with the relegation threaten Wigan. Instead of vying for a spot in a team pushing for promotion Kirkland will be fight it out for a place on the Wigan bench.

New WAG on the block

Is there a new WAG heading for the Grandstand of the Cardiff City Stadium.

Cardiff striker Jay Bothroyd was out and about last week in London with his new bow Lisa Snowdon. According to the gossip columns they have been dating for a few months with friends saying it is still very early yet.

The radio presenter and come model is rumour to have not dating since breaking up with actor George Clooney over five years ago.

Bothroyd is separated from his wife and for the fashion conscous 28 year-old Jay is waering a velvet blazer, chunk kint scarf and jeans.

Not interested

I don’t give a flying f**k that Rob Earnshaw did or didn’t celebrate is goal on Saturday. The same if Cardiff City fans chant for him to do the Ayatollah, don’t care but if it was to get up the nose of the Forest fans Ayatollah away Earnie. Did any Cardiff cheering him has he scored, chanting is name or giving him a polite clap or were they thinking ‘bastard’ like me.

On the BBC Wales news they talk of him with stupid headline like ‘bitten the hand that feed him’, he left the club in 2004 leaving behind a shed load of goals plus £3million. I think he feed us enough.

The same happened last week when ex-City old boy Steve Thompson was given a warm reception by the Cardiff crowd when he came on for the last 15minutes only to score the equaliser. However, he did celebrate and good for him.

Remember ex-City striker Simon Haworth, he found out the cost of acknowledging the Cardiff fans when Wigan fans turned nasty with him for doing the Ayatollah. Within weeks he was out the door and moved on to Tranmere.

's counter response as a resource to an adverse situation. A brief offensive action, moved, combined and without error that decides the outcome of two games. The day of Champions League left us two brilliant examples of how to run a counter and swing the outcome in your favor. Although the details differ skip between them, the situation is virtually unchanged. The meetings in question were the Milan - Tottenham and Arsenal - Barcelona.

Contextualization San Siro would be summarized in one of the local attacks (minute 79), persistent for the second half, and a very well-crafted defense of the Spurs. Ibrahimovic tries to filter a pass to break the first line of pressure but finds Tottenham theft Sandro (0'2 "). The Brazilian assists its referent, Modric, who turns his body towards the opponent at the same field time that Lennon uncheck accelerates in Ibrahimovic's back. The Croatian navigated a light touch and pressure milanista Lennon gets the ball (0'4 ") on home soil with space ahead: perfect situation to exploit its strengths . In just six seconds of an attack has passed rossonero a friendly against the Spurs.

Nesta movement leaves only Crouch

just five seconds later, Lennon is facing Thiago Silva on the edge of the penalty area. It's a two for two: Lennon & Crouch and Thiago Silva & Nesta. The English end with a touch of dodge ball to Thiago Silva (0.10) and Nesta try to block the shot in the area. Crouch is automatically unmarked in the penalty spot, receives the pass from Lennon and crossing the ball scores (0 '13). Just fifteen seconds passed since the theft and define Sandra Crouch. A very short space of time may well have defined a playoff. Sandro interception, receipt of Modric, the uncheck and Lennon's career, his dribble and the definition of Crouch. Wonderful.

very similar situation which came a day later in the Emirates. In time of similar encounter (minute 82) to the San Siro, with a tie score and the changes that seemed all made decisive, Barcelona right wing attack. The video that illustrates this entry shows the exact moment where Koscielny moves in to intercept a pass in their own area and assists Bendtner (0'2 "), the starting point in a succession of movements which become decisive in setting the perfect counterattack.

Cesc is released and three of Barcelona are on the ball

First, glaring error Barcelona players (up to three) will cover the pass from Bendtner (0'4 ") Wilshere leaving a clear passing lane. Busquets emphasize movement, leaving Cesc, which is already endangered in essence, and that will be key in accelerating the move. Secondly, Wilshere gets the ball and assist the first touch and an unmarked Cesc (0'5 ") which outlines his body in a turned-fabulous view of the situation for a control-oriented and send a ball. Finally, Nasri, who had begun his career when he receives the ball Bentdner (0'4 "), refers to the assistance of Cesc (0.10") at the edge of the area of \u200b\u200bBarcelona and stops to wait for their peers . By cutting open a passing lane (0'14 ") and Arshavin against manual defines a football (0.16).

3x1 Barcelona and two Arsenal players free

the same time it took Arsenal and Tottenham in making a move to attack based on various movements perfect. Both moves are reminiscent of the famous race Theo Walcott at Anfield in 2009 in a quarter-final of the Champions League, although this time, we should emphasize the merit of rapid flooding of the Arsenal player.

R's on the Road............ To Middlesbrough.

This Saturday the "long ol poke" up north takes us to Middlesbrough as Rangers' look to build/recover from Tuesday nights win/loss/draw against Ipswich.
Here are a few hints and tips for those making the journey to Teeside.

The Stadium.

Current Capacity – 35,100

Middlesbrough were founded in 1876 by Middlesbrough Cricket team players so they could keep fit during the winter. The club turned professional in 1889 but returned to amateur status in 1892. In 1899 the club turned professional permanently and it took them three years to gain promotion into the First Division.
The club moved into a new ground in time for the start of their first season in the time flight. Ayresome Park was Middlesbrough’s home from 1903 for 92 years before the club moved into the brand new Riverside Stadium in 1995. The original Ayresome Park gates have been incorporated in front of the ground along with two statues. The Riverside Stadium was built in a lightening quick 32 weeks.
In 1986 the club came close to folding due to financial difficulties but were saved by a consortium led by the current Club Chairman Steve Gibson.
The club won their first major silverware under the guidance of Steve McLaren in 2004 when they beat Bolton in the League Cup Final, running out 2-1winners.
Just two years later Middlesbrough reached the UEFA Cup Final, after coming back from 3-0 down in two previous fixtures, unfortunately the club were unable to overcome Sevilla and lost 4-0.
For this fixture the away fans will be housed in the South Stand, around 4,500 fans can be housed in there. The leg room is decent but the concourse at the back could get very cramped if there is a decent following at this fixture. There is a Ladbrokes and screens on the concourse, which do show the match once its kicked off, and a list of rough prices from food are listed in the usual grub section.

The History between the teams.

At Middlesbrough (21)

Middlesbrough 12
QPR 5
Draw 4

Before last season's 2-0 defeat, both goals were penalties, a League fixture had not occured 8th November 1997 when Middlesbrough ran out clear 3-0 winners. Middlesbrough also beat Rangers’ in the FA Cup 3rd round replay at the Riverside in the same season when they won 2-0.
Rangers’ last win on Teeside came in January 1993 when they won 1-0 courtesy of a Les Ferdinand winner. Incidentally that is the last time the R’s scored at Boro’ so there is some history to be written, if a Rangers’ player can put one in the back of the net.

How to get there.

By Car:-
The postcode to get you there today is TS3 6RS.
Go up the M1 to junction 32 and join the M18. On the M18 come off at junction 2 and join the A1 (alternatively you can just use the A1 from the start). Leave the A1 at junction 49 and join the A168, which leads onto the A19 and then onto the A66 (just follow the signs for Teeside). You will pass Darlington’s new(ish) ground along the way. As you enter Middlesbrough you will see the Riverside Stadium signposted.
There is no official parking at the Riverside so it has been advised that you follow signs for ‘away coaches’, this will lead you towards a host of private car parking areas that will cost in the region of £4-5 and is a 15-20 minute walk from the stadium.

By Train:- The ground is a walkable distance from the train station so here’s a rough guide on how to get to your destination.
Leaving the station via the main entrance you take a left onto Zetland Road and then another left onto Albert Road and go under the railway bridge. After going under the bridge turn immediately right onto Bridge Street East, going past the Bridge pub and take the next right onto Wynward Way. The stadium is just down this road.

Pubs 'n' Grub.

After reading reviews the pubs that are recommended are Doctor Browns just at the bottom of Corporation Road in the City Centre and Barracuda on Albert Road in the City Centre. The Bridge Pub by the train station isn’t recommended to away fans, but if you’re not wearing colours then I can’t see any harm in paying them a visit.
The usual host of food outlets are available in the City Centre but there isn’t much available around the ground.
A few prices of the food inside the ground are as follows :- balti pies (£1.80), minced beef pies (£1.80), rollover sausages (£2.40), cheeseburgers (£2.40), pizza (£2.30), chips (£1.50) and curry sauce (£0.50).

Russian Officers In Racy Video Row

Russia VideoRussian customs officers claim they only wanted to humorously depict the lavish lifestyle that comes with their government jobs in a racy new video, but Prime Minister Vladimir Putin isn't laughing.

Reuters is reporting that Putin rebuked the head of his country's customs service offices after a clip which shows a group of normally strait-laced officers going wild in their offices became a viral YouTube smash this week.
Set to a Russian hip-hop soundtrack, the sexy video shows the officers in Vladivostok dancing, swigging champagne and dive-bombing across the floor, while another scene depicts a lingerie-clad female officer rubbing customs documents against her breasts. These segments are intercut with shots of a mysterious Batman-like figure, perhaps an intentional dig at Putin, who was infamously referred to as the character in one of WikiLeaks' leaked U.S. State Department cables.

"I also like a laugh and a joke, but artistic creativity is best left for the house of culture," Putin is quoted as saying by the AFP. "Their talent needs to be put to use somewhere else. But not at work. At work they need to work on implementing customs rules and doing their job."

14 Cup Finals

Nottingham Forest, history now it is all about Tuesday night and the visit of Sven-Goran Eriksson's and his Leicester City side. They have not lost in the last eight game a run that must end Tuesday.

Results around Cardiff helped them out again today with only Swansea City of the top six won and of course Nottingham Forest.

What I will say about the Forest game Cardiff, maybe in the eyes of the management, away fans eyes and the thousands of fans watching naughty feeds on the internet they deserved to get something from the game. However, for all the chances if the ball doesn’t go in the net it means nothing. You can play all the pretty football in the world but if you don’t score and win it means little to the majority of fans.

They are only 14 games left to secure automatic promotion! a play-off spot in my book will be a failure. The play-offs are a pressure cooker a lottery on club would want and after last season something I could do without.

Every game left is and must be treated as a cup final. Form means nothing these days particularly in the Championship as we seen again yesterday with bottom club Preston get a draw with top of the QPR. Scunthorpe took all three points off Forest mid-week.

The pundits say we have the team to win promotion and go on about Craig Bellamy, Michael Chopra and Jay Bothroyd but we need a team, not individual players. It takes blood and guts to be shed at a time like this the team must lock together. On Tuesday night take a minute to look around the stadium at 20,000 plus fans, they paid good money to watch the game and when you move on they will still be there.

The fans have they piece in this, support the team with your voices, hands and flags. Chant about the players, the team, the manager and forget about England/Wales crap it should be about CARDIFF CITY.
If you are first you are first. If you are second, you are nothing. - Bill Shankly Liverpool manager.

The person that said winning isn't everything, never won anything. -Mia Hamm American female soccer player.
It a full fixture list for the Championship Tuesday here are the top seven
(4) Cardiff v (7) Leicester
(15) Coventry v (3) Swansea
(6) Leeds v (14) Barnsley
(5) Norwich v (17) Doncaster
(2) Nottingham Forest v (24) Preston
(1) QPR v (13) Ipswich
() donates league position

Looks like it us (Cardiff) again with the game of the night as rivals fish for points in the lower half of the Championship league table. A win for the visitors could see them in the top six.

Calories In Veggie Stir Fry

The feeling of suffocation caused by the edge of the drop is incomparable to any other decision of a league table . While the European places are most competitive never-five teams qualify for four seats and there is even favorite take the Premier League ", the decline covers eight points in just ten positions. Direct duels, tension in every game and not always self-reliance. Surprised to see teams like Everton or Aston Villa in late position but presumably more or less suffering will eventually solve their problems.

First, would a group of teams that finish the season without pain or glory, one beyond their means (Stoke City) and others wishing he had better start (Everton, Aston Villa). Those of Tony Pulis is an example of how to make an ideology game and squeeze every last point. Both Everton and Aston Villa began as the negative surprises but inertia has allowed them to take pace. The 'Toffees' Premier combine their progress with a boost in FA Cup, while Aston Villa is using the signing of Bent and its own quarry. Also Blackburn, who has fully exploited its resources and, if everything continues as it seems, have no problem in staying.

There is another group consisting of Newcastle, Fulham and Birmingham, the theory says it will end up saving. The Newcastle should live, not without problems, the income obtained with Carroll as a striker. Now, orphans of a reference, each point will be a world for them. Fulham were clinging to the imminent return of Bobby Zamora and the good run they have achieved (8 points from the previous 15) plus the latest draw against Chelsea, which may well be a victory Dempsey had not missed the penalty. Finally, in the Birmingham highlight the good work during the winter to be with Bentley, which has already been instrumental in two games since playing at St Andrews. The wide player is intended to be understood like a charm with Zigic, who seems to have done-finally-with a hole in the side.

Zamora's return seems paramount

inevitable that Blackpool is presumed, West Brom, Wigan, West Ham and Wolves will play the relegation zone. Five teams to three positions. Both Blackpool and WBA, newly promoted, started the year in a superb form but have been involved in a disastrous run of results despite the good game (not always good, but attractive, fun) that have been relegated to the tail classification. Wigan Roberto Martinez has all season to limit the stay, holding weekly posts that lead you to Championship. Much has to change its dynamics, especially on defense. The West Ham is a team for well below their means, subject to a tug of war but will not finish booting, each time with less margin. It seems that the signing signings Demba Ba, O'Neil, Bridge, in addition to good performance Piquionne, Mark Noble and Scott Parker serve as an impetus to the permanence . Perhaps those who have fewer options to stay are the Wolves, bottom side for many days, they can only imagine the stay if the above was sung at the end of the year. Jarvis, O'Hara, Doyle or Milijas are our hope.

decrease Bet: 18 º Wigan, WBA 19 th, 20 th Wolves.

Sofia Vergara for Bally Total Fitness in 1998

You know how sometimes a celebrity becomes really popular and all of the sudden all sorts of embarrassing clips from commercials or movies they’ve done start surfacing and we all have a good laugh about it? Yeah, this isn’t that at all.
Sofia Vergara is more popular than ever these days thanks to her role on the ABC comedy Modern Family, but in 1998, she was still mostly just known as a model. So it’s not at all surprising that she’d agree to do a Bally Total Fitness commercial. She’s certainly got the, um, “fitness” for the job, that’s for sure. But unlike so many celebs before her, this acting gig from days gone by is no reason for embarrassment. In fact, it’s about the sexiest damn thing we’ve seen this week. And, hello, five dollar signup fee? What a bargain!

R's fail to leave Preston in Deep-er trouble.

On this cold Saturday the Rangers' faithful took to the road as our table toppers travelled to bottom of the table Preston. Could the R's take the opportunity to potentially extend their lead at the top of the table as the chasing pack play each other, or will the fixture prove to be a banana skin, much like Nottingham Forest found on Wednesday night against Scunthorpe.

Jenson was in charge of the driving today as Lofty and PK arrived at Hillman HQ at 10 before meeting me, Sam and Luke at the second meeting point at 10.30 and heading to Deepdale.
We first hit traffic as we entered Birmingham on the M42 and took a quick pit stop just before the M6 Toll and got in supplies ready for another dash up the M6. In the services we bumped into many a Crawley, Brighton and Man United fan. PK managed to catch a few words with a Crawley fan as he was asked who we were playing and just as you thought the conversation was going to end PK uttered words that you just wouldn't ask, "who are you playing today?" PK replied, its only the most talked about FA Cup tie and PK forgot about it! Its fair to say that he has not lived it down all day, poor git!
We carried on up the M6 and we were held up in sheer weight of traffic due to the 9000 Crawley fans driving up from West Sussex and the other 40,000 Man United fans travelling up from Surrey, I have come to the conclusion that Man United should have bid for the Olympic Stadium so that they are closer to their fan base!
Having battled through and arriving at Preston at 2.15, we made our way into the stadium to grab a pie(or two in my case) and have a quick chat before making our way up to our seats. Lorna made her arrival as we were having our chat on the concourse with Michael and Debbie.
We were in a cautious mood and know that this could be a very dangerous fixture and had to be professional in order to pick up three points today.

Two changes were made from Sunday's game against Forest, one of which was forced. Tommy Smith missed out with his hamstring injury and Rob Hulse dropped to the bench. Their replacements were Ishmael Miller and Heidar Helguson.

Photobucket

The opening ten minutes were pretty even with Rangers' struggling to get a hold of the game but it wasn't long before they slowly asserted themselves on the game with Faurlin in particular pulling the strings and being as influencial as possible from his holding midfield role.
Taarabt tested Turner in the Preston goal with a few efforts, the best one being a free kick that was tipped wide for a corner.
Rangers' were so in control and at one point they knocked together around 40 passes with Preston unable to get hold of the ball.
Myself, Lofty and PK were saying that what we needed to do was stay patient and we would get the breakthrough, two minutes later that breakthrough came.
Derry passed to Miller and the big striker ran to the left edge of the penalty area and drilled a ball across the six yard box and there was Helguson to grab a goal on his return to the first team after recovering from injury.
Rangers' could have been two up minutes later. Taarabt danced down the left and played in Miller behind the Preston defence and he played the ball across the box once more and this time Helguson was unable to get a touch and the ball was cleared from danger.

At half time Lofty and PK made their way downstairs for refreshments and a crafty fag as the rest of us stayed in our seats. Sam and Lorna were dancing away to something, it definitely wasn't the band that played at half time, the music was bad enough to make your ears bleed! I was being entertained over bbm as Jess was informing me of how well our accumulators were getting on as we were on course to win in four seperate accys, as you can imagine the excitement really got my blood pumping.

Photobucket

The second half got underway and Rangers' continued to look in control as Taarabt tested Turner once more.
Ishmael Miller was then replaced by Petter Vaagen Moen.
When Miller left the field it looked as if we lost our balance in attack and this allowed Preston the chance to retain more possesion in defensive areas.
We all knew that we could not remain confident with a one goal lead and needed to push for it so we could not give Preston a chance of rallying back, unfortunately that didn't not happen and Preston started to grow in confidence and put us under pressure. Instead of trying to stifle Preston we stood of them and let them play and give them the hope they needed in search for an equaliser and sure enough the leveller came.
Barton's ball was well controlled by Nicholson before he then proceeded to lob Paddy Kenny in what was a very well taken goal. Game on!
Preston took good heart from the goal and went close to taking the lead a minute later when Ellington fizzed one just over from 25yards out.
We were looking nervy in defence but positive in attack as Adel Taarabt done his best to try and win the game for Rangers' and went close on a few occasions and also had a few shots blocked. In some instances we were screaming for him to pass to people in space but you could see that all he wanted to do was ensure we didn't drop two points against the leagues bottom club.
Taarabt and Rangers' were twarted in their efforts as the game ended 1-1.

Photobucket

In summary, having dominated the first half and looking so comfortable it is extremely disappointing to only come away with one point from the game, however Preston deserve a lot of credit for battling away and upsetting us in the second half and trying to win the game.
I feel that the absence of Smith was a blow for us today and when Miller was subbed we looked to lose a balance in the attacking third. As mentioned earlier, I feel Taarabt probably tried too hard to get a winner for us and we needed to be a bit more patient and knock the ball around on the floor more because that is where we are at our most comfortable. It seems like sometimes we hit the panic button and tend to go long too early when we need to just build up and break teams down with patience and we will benefit more from it as we have the players to do this.
It was good to see Buzsaky back in action again at the end of the game and he will have a big part to play in the final 14 games of the season.
Lastly I'd like to mention Rob Hulse. Hulse has come under scrutiny from Rangers' fans as of late and is being made a bit of a scapegoat when things aren't going well. If people looked at his work rate rather than the amount of goals we are scoring you will see how much of a good player Hulse is and now he is pretty much match fit we will now hopefully see him flourish, he needs our support and once he gets back on the scoresheet we will see him come good for us. Keep the faith in Mr Hulse.

Finally we go onto our Man of the Match. Matt Connolly and Kaspers Gorkss looked very nervous in defence after Mr Warnock's critisism on the defence last Sunday and didn't do too much to help their cause today. Adel Taarabt wanted to be a winner today but unfortunately for him he had to settle for a point like the rest of us. Despite his attitude we will once again award our Man of the Match to a person really showing his class and pulling the strings from the holding midfield, that man is Alejandro Faurlin.

Our journey home had a determined Jenson wanting to get us home extra fast so we could enjoy our evenings. We ticked off the results of todays prediction competition, which had a record pot on offer of £30 to the winner. Going into the final division we had myself, Lofty and Sam all tied at the top with PK just one point behind. The final scores read that Lofty and PK were tied at the top on 21 with the Man United remaining and with them both predicting a convincing United win we had to go to the tie break game, Montrose vs Berwick Rangers(the big game of the day!) Lofty predicted a 1-1 scoreline as PK went for a 2-1 home victory. The final score was 1-1 as Lofty won, or so it seemed, in a late twist we noticed that Luke could tie level if the final score of the United game was 2-0 as he had his banker placed on this game. As it was the game finished 1-0 and Lofty claimed the money(when it all get paid to him).
Finally I'd just like to mention the fantastic driving of Jenson tonight. We left Preston at 5.30 and we were stuck in traffic until we hit the motorway at 6 and then flew home. Usually I write and publish the report in the car but because I started the report slightly later than usual and Jenson's fast driving I am finishing this off at home(at 8.25), he managed to get us from Preston to our meeting point in Marlow in two and a half hours, quite incredible driving! Its safe to say that his spot as the driver for Middlesbrough is safe ;)

Lofty will return for the Ipswich match report on Tuesday night and I will be publishing the R's on the Road to Middlesbrough at some point(either Monday, Weds or Thurs).

U R'SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!
